Handwoven Kotpad Cotton Dupatta

Designed by Kāśa and handwoven by talented artisans from Mirigan Community of Kotpad, this dupatta is naturally dyed with a special natural pigment called 'Aul' found in the local forests of Koraput, Odisha. Aul is extracted from the root skins of the noni tree. The dyeing process takes well over 30 days to achieve this rich earthy red colour and only Kotpad artisans have the knowledge of this technique for achieving the colour. The design sports a simple motif and composition to suit the needs of all genders alike.
